Deep Sea Discovery: Diving into the Bible is well underway! We are just finishing a rotation on the story of Jacob/Esau. The kids have been learning to identify the four gospels to find the stories of Jacob/Esau in Genesis within the Old Testament and retell the main parts of the story, as there are a lot of parts to this story! They have been learning this through a Wheel of Fortune trivia game and through computers where they learn the importance of being one of God’s people. They are also making acrostic poems with their names to share their uniqueness and growing relationship with God, and through art, where they are making two different “weaving” projects to represent how God has woven together all the experiences of our lives in to an amazing tapestry.

Our next rotation will be a short one on Christmas Around the World!

In Preschool/Kindergarten, they have just finished the Creation story and are now beginning the story of Noah, and will finish the month off with the story of Joseph as a boy and how he served God all his life. They will be making rainbow books, playing with the water table, making Bible memory hearts, playing Joseph dress-up and making “I can serve” cards. We have also begun to practice our Christmas songs for the program and will be sending them home soon for them to practice.

We are doing well with our first mission which is collecting money for the Waukesha Humane Society (HAWS). This mission will continue probably until around Christmas, at which time we will begin a new mission that will involve helping people in our country in some way and the third and final mission will involve helping people in another country.  This continues to be great fun and the kids are starting to realize that they can make a difference too!
