God's Great Production: Behind the Scenes with the Bible

we are trying something new this summer! Starting June 3^rd through the rest of the summer, we will be offering a more “relaxed” program for the kids upstairs while the 9:00 am service is going on. This will be for children going into 1^st - 6^th grade. (Preschool & Kindergarteners would still go to Kiddie Care/Child Care.)

Each Sunday will involve a specific Bible story & an activity such as watching a movie, doing arts & crafts, games, music & lots of other fun stuff! The program will be run by Dawn or myself & we will be asking for one (1) volunteer to help each week in order to keep to our safe sanctuary policy. We understand the summer gets busy but we hope that you will take some time to visit us upstairs this summer.

Please Note: this is just a trial & if it ends up being just Dawn & my kids, we will discontinue the program!

From the Sunday School Set . . .

Mary Ann Proffitt & Dawn Coryell –Christian Ed Co Directors

*Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, kids & others that helped raise $172 for our Reading is Fundamental book mission. You did it in 7 weeks! That will buy approximately 172 books for kids that don’t have them. Thank you for giving the gift of reading! Our next mission which is our world mission will begin this week & involves raising money to purchase animals for World Vision. They provide animals, water, mosquito nets & so many other necessities to countries in need. Our first goal is $25 which will buy 2 chickens; once that goal is reached the kids will decide what animal we will work towards purchasing. For every dollar they bring, they will get to place an egg in a basket! It should be great fun to see how fast we can fill it up!

*Also Erik Olson has compiled a wonderful DVD for all of us of our Christmas program video & slide show! It is absolutely fabulous!!! Eric Coryell has graciously burned a copy for each family in our Sunday school & we will have them for you this week! A HUGE thank you to both of them!!!

*We have two more rotations this year, Easter Around the World & Jacob & Esau! We can’t believe the year has gone by so quickly! The last day of Sunday school will be Sunday, May 20^th! This will be a very special day as we will be part of the morning service for a short period of time to present the 3rd graders with their Bibles, acknowledge our teachers, honor all our students for their hard work with our missions & congratulate our graduates (sniff- sniff)! We will also be having a great time upstairs with our Bible Blastoff Finale with lots of fun games & special treats! Put this date on your calendar now because you don’t want to miss it!!!

*Mega Sports Camp “Go the Distance” is the Vacation Bible School program we will be doing this summer from Monday, July 9^th through Friday, July 13^th from 6-8 pm with a Friday night potluck dinner beginning at 5:30pm & ending at 8:30pm. This program mixes sports & Bible teaching to help enrich the lives of kids. Kids will enjoy a fast-paced mix of upbeat rallies, Sports Session & Coach Huddles. There will be something for everyone! Signup sheets will be available soon so mark your calendars & tell a friend!!
